Orchid Solutions is a collaborative service designed to support children and young people more holistically. We believe that collaboration between services provides children, young people and their families with a broader perspective and a greater understanding of individual strengths, needs and potential ways forward. It enables families to access two highly skilled professionals in the same room and negates them having to tell their child’s story twice. Joint working between a Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) and Educational Psychologist (EP) allows a comprehensive and integrated case formulation to guide any recommendations and ongoing work, which we believe will lead to improved outcomes for children and young people.
Solutions Educational Psychology is an independent educational and child psychology service working across Hertfordshire and the surrounding areas. The service is led by Dr. Emma Sheffield, who values evidence-based psychology in a collaborative, positive and person-centred way to promote and support the learning and wellbeing of children and young people. We work directly with families as well as through educational settings.
In our work as a multi-disciplinary team, The Orchid Practice and Solutions Educational Psychology aim to provide:
A highly professional, trustworthy and uniquely collaborative service that makes a difference to the lives of children, young people and their families;
An in-depth multi-disciplinary assessment that leads to the development of a jointly agreed, evidence-based action plan;
Comprehensive reports including jointly agreed targets that will support children and young people to achieve their full learning potential, be confident communicators and feel good about themselves.
